Virtual campus: how Campus Privé revolutionizes remote education

Centralize 16 training institutions into a single virtual ecosystem with thousands of learners.

XR Training and Hybrid Learning

How do you maintain a strong sense of belonging when your students are scattered all over France?

How do you recreate the spontaneity of a hallway, the warmth of a classroom or the energy of an open house day, when distance becomes an everyday reality? It is exactly this challenge, as human as it is technological, that Campus Privé chose to take up by partnering with KLONA to create an immersive virtual campus, designed as the natural extension of its physical institutions.

Expertise and innovation: Campus Privé's evolution towards immersive remote learning

For more than twenty years, Campus Privé has been training apprentices in fields as varied as cybersecurity, business, sports, and the social sector. With 16 campuses spread across France, the institution has established itself as a key player in work-study training, capable of adapting to the most diverse career paths through programs offered both in-person and remotely.

But this geographical richness also comes with its own complexities. In a multi-site model, maintaining a shared culture, strengthening the bond between learners, teaching teams, and partner companies, and ensuring that every student—wherever they are—feels a real sense of belonging to their training community, is a true strategic challenge. It is within this logic that the idea of a shared virtual space blossomed.

The advantages of a hybrid learning space for isolated students

Campus Privé's ambition was clear right from the start: not just to create another digital tool, but to design a true communal living space capable of gathering students, trainers, and corporate partners in the same environment, regardless of their geographical location.

This space had to meet three specific goals:

  • Strengthen the sense of presence in remote training, which is often perceived as more impersonal
  • Develop a sense of belonging to the training center despite the geographical dispersion inherent in the multi-site model
  • Offer an inclusive alternative for sometimes isolated learners, whether the isolation is geographical, professional or social.

The KLONA platform was chosen to materialize this vision. Specializing in the creation of virtual environments dedicated to organizations, it allowed for the construction of a persistent digital ecosystem. That means it is always available, scalable, and completely customized with Campus Privé's branding and usages.

Virtual campus features: collaborative tools for learning and virtual educational experiences

The Campus Privé virtual campus is not a simple videoconferencing space dressed up in a digital set. It is a complete environment, designed to reproduce, and sometimes enrich, the features of a physical campus.

Visitors can find:

  • Collaborative spaces and fully equipped conference rooms to host educational meetings, online classes or group discussion times under conditions close to in-person training
  • A training gallery to discover all the courses offered by Campus Privé in an interactive and visual way
  • A dynamic display system to explore the campus, guide oneself, and access real-time information
  • Integrated internal web tools facilitating the monitoring of corporate missions and the assessment of apprentices' skills
  • An autonomous AI robot capable of answering visitor questions and directing users to the right resources or contacts—a particularly useful feature during peak activity periods like information days or enrollment.

Every element has been designed to fit seamlessly into Campus Privé's existing practices, without bogging down processes or requiring prior technical training.

Web accessibility: the digital avatar as a human interface without prior installation

One of the primary pitfalls of immersive solutions often lies in their access complexity. Campus Privé and KLONA made the opposite choice: prioritizing fluidity and accessibility for all user profiles, whether an 18-year-old apprentice or a training director.

Entering the virtual campus takes just one click through a simple web link, with no download or installation required. Once connected, the user creates their avatar—a digital double representing them in the virtual space—and can immediately start interacting with other people present.

The communication methods available are numerous and complementary: audio, video via webcam, instant messaging, screen sharing. The avatar plays a central role in this experience: by moving through space, getting closer to other avatars to trigger a conversation, it recreates a natural and spontaneous group dynamic. This is what fundamentally distinguishes a virtual campus from a simple online meeting room: the feeling of being somewhere, together.

Success of immersive events: the case of the Campus Privé virtual Open House Day

To test the possibilities offered by this immersive environment in an event context, Campus Privé organized an entirely virtual Open House Day directly within the KLONA campus. An innovative format, which demonstrated the full potential of the space.

Visitors were welcomed in a dedicated conference room to discover the institution and interact with its representatives. They were able to participate in live one-on-one interviews, in reserved One-to-One spaces, replicating the confidentiality and exchange quality of a face-to-face interview. They also explored the different training programs available by talking directly with the educational teams and corporate partners present on that day.

The assessment of this experience confirmed what Campus Privé suspected: digital immersion, when well designed, does not sacrifice the human dimension. It reinvents it.

The future of learning: hybridization between in-person and virtual campuses, beyond the physical classroom

Beyond the Campus Privé case, this project illustrates an underlying trend in the training sector: the learning space is no longer defined by walls. It is built wherever the learners are, in environments capable of combining flexibility, engagement, and social connection.

The virtual campus does not replace in-person—it completes it, extends it, and gives it a new dimension. It reaches audiences that were previously hard to reach, offers unprecedented educational experiences, and keeps a learning community alive beyond geographical constraints.

We are proud to support Campus Privé in this process, convinced that technology, when put at the service of humanity, can truly transform how we learn, how we meet, and how we grow together.

Learning evolves. Campuses too. And the possibilities are just beginning.
